Women in Academia Network

The Women in Academia Network is a network established by women and for women. The network has three simple aims:

  • To raise the profile of gender issues for female academics at our institution
  • To tackle the challenges facing female academics
  • To facilitate supportive relationships between female academics and to provide a safe environment for sharing problems as well as best practice.


Women Adding Value to the Economy

Women Adding Value to the Economy (WAVE) aims to tackle the underlying issues that contribute to gender pay inequalities in Wales in employment and self employment. The project is funded by European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government.

The Women In Self Employment Resource (WISER) strand of WAVE offer a number of resources to empower and support aspiring women and women already in self employment via Learning, Networking and Mentoring.


Centre for the Study of Media and Culture in Small Nations

The Centre for the Study of Media and Culture in Small Nations coordinates research on the creative industries in Wales through the frame of small nations globally. It is based in the Faculty of Creative Industries, but operates across the University of South Wales.


The Research Mentoring Scheme

The Research Mentoring Scheme is primarily for Research Institute members or people who aspire to be in one of the Institutes. More information can be found on the Research website.
